A Day in Amsterdam

Source
Amsterdam waking up with rising sun.

Welcome to Amsterdam! Known as "Venice of the North", the city of canals is the capital of Netherlands, Europe. Whether you love riding bike, an artist, nature freak or fancy a cup of espresso, Netherlands will give you all. What's there to do? A lot. Where to start? We'll tell you.

Start your beautiful morning with an Espresso. The best cafe to check out is Espresso Fabriek, known for its aromatic espresso to soothe your soul and get you going. Quick tip: The best way to get around in Amsterdam is to rent a bike like more than half million other people in the city. Check out the nearest metro or tram stations to rent a bike.

Aerial view of  Dam Square
However, before renting a bike, have a guided tour of Canals. Watch the colorful city pass by you as you listen to the history of the city and its reputation. Once done, ride bike to Dam Square where you'll witness a number of historical buildings around you.

Later check out Van Gogh Museum, home to the famous Van Gogh's artistry. The paintings are so lively they'll hint you a life in themselves. Talking about museum, do not forget to visit Rijksmuseum (one of the famous museums in the world) to see various artefacts and paintings from brilliant artists.

People enjoying the nightlife in Amsterdam
If you're tired already, here is a chance to relax..Go to Vondelpark, a massive park situated in Amsterdam-Zuid (borough) and sit near a pond or just lay down on the cushioned grass.

After enjoying a blend of sun and nature, it's time for shopping! Head to P.C. Hooftstraat, a street with the most exclusive brands such as Dior, DKNY, Chanel and a lot more. With the dusk, it's time to check out nightlife. Amsterdam, like many other populous European cities is famous for it's nightlife and pubs. My favorite recommendation would be Sugar Factory. The nightclub is jampacked with people dancing with an electro rhythm.

A long day and an energized dance must have made you tired and gets you a good night sleep. Sweet dreams and keep reading Travel Expresso to have your imaginations fly while you dream...

  6. Jay, you have a great variety of activities here. Can you believe that I never got to the Rijksmuseum last time I was in Amsterdam? Your espresso theme reminds me of my friends journey where she ordered a hot chocolate in every country she visited and compared the styles.
